Trouble ShootingTrouble Shooting Scooter Problems First off regardless of the the instructions say they usually run right out of the box, the battery is usually always already charged. First test is with the charger, when plugged in it should have a red and green light on [note it is not plugged into scooter yet]. If the scooter is not fully charged when plugged into the scooter the red light goes off the green light on, if the scooter is is fully charged both green light and red light are on. The scooter that does not work at all we suspect that the switch on the back brake is not activated. The back brake has a spring that pushes the brake up and pushes a micro switch [turn scooter up side down and press brake with hand and see if you can see the switch turn on and off]. When the back brake is pushed down the micro switch is released and turns off the power. When the back brake is released it returns to a position that activates the micro switch. So basically we have two switches the one on the foot pad and the one on the back brake. So to get power the front foot switch has to be on and the back brake switch has to be on [plus you have to turn the back wheel in a forward motion to start motor] if either are in a released position you will get no power. Some times the back switches is not activated because the back brake is a little sticky so push down with hand and release a few times. Once the scooter is ridden a bit the back brake mechanism loosens up a bit so you don't have that problem anymore. If it still does not run we suggest you remove the deck lid of the scooter and inspect battery and connections. To remove the deck lid you need to remove the taped label over the brake pad and unscrew the back brake with a Phillips screw driver then remove the 4 bolts on the scooter deck lid. Please try to use the proper size screw drivers as not to strip the bolts. Once deck lid is removed you can unplug the battery and remove from case. Inspect all connections make sure there are no broken wires. Also check and see if any wires are damaged or if there is anything broken. For the most part the scooters are easy to fix. There are only a few components motor, controller, battery, 2 switches and a charger. Also we would suggest trying to ride it by first pushing it and activiating power switch and taping on the back brake. We have tested alot of scooters and have rarely had them not work right out of the box. Other Help pages |
